Sneak Preview: Samsung i617T

Here’s a little sneak peak of the new Samsung i617T, the successor to one of our best selling smart phones, the Samsung Blackjack.

The Samsung i617T* is a fantastic step-up on its predecessor with a number of new enhancements including:

 

§         Operating System: Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard as opposed to the WM5 that was available on the Blackjack. This is includes the Microsoft Office Mobile Suite that allows you to edit Microsoft Office documents.

§         A slightly larger screen (2.4 inch LCD) that increases the resolution to QVGA (320x240 pixels) with over 65,000 on screen colours

§         An upgraded 2.0 Megapixel camera compared to the 1.3 Megapixel camera on the previous model

§         A larger capacity battery to 1,700 mAh that resolves a number of battery drain problems that were evident on the Blackjack

§         A new “jog wheel” navigation which replaces the side-mounted wheel on the Samsung Blackjack. It spins to cycle through the menu icons, but can also be pressed up, down and side to side like a conventional D-pad.

§         A revised layout on the full QWERTY keyboard with slightly larger keys and revised number layout to group them together

§         Inbuilt GPS
